While not meaning to put down SR at all, as I think it's a great site. I do think it's time to start looking at creating a SR 2.0.
Some features I'd like to see on a newly designed site include product photos, adding a price in Euro, Dollar, Pounds, and having it converted into Bitcoins instead of having to work it out and then enter the price in Bitcoins, I think most people thought this was going to be how it was done when Dynamic prices were suggested.
I think as well a nicer, easier user interface would be great idea for the site.
What do you think?

I think it takes time and money, this website is young; so it might be a while before you fluff coding being added in. The dynamics of the website are strong our you wouldnt bother ordering anything, if you didnt recognize potential of the website you wouldnt bother coming to the forums. I know we would all like to have the extra things like money converters and pictures but security should really be our main issue. Lets all have some patience for now.

Hi,
Yes, I am familiar with the free market arguments, but I hope it didn't come across that I didn't think this website doing a great job. I think it is clear that I do a lot of business here and appreciate the site. This does not mean that I cannot suggest new things, and like to see improvements.

Sorry if i offended you, it was not my intention and i just like you would like to see things implemented such as a buyers ranking system of some sort. I realize my post may (probably) came off as a little holier than thou, and made me seem like a bit of ass. When I read your original post i felt you wanted everything to fall from the sky and happen over night; which is not feasible.

I don't think at this time we should make any major changes based on the presumption that we will survive. After all the unneeded and unwanted attention by US politicians and--one presumes--US law enforcement, I don't think we should get so complacent as to believe we are necessarily here for the longterm. Most attention by BC should be focused strictly on protection against, and detection of LE, specifically US, but also other nations. I don't want us to forget there is a serious determined effort to bring this site down, and to prosecute it's members for drug trafficking...forgetting that might make us not so cautious...

Hey, sorry I didn't mean to be offended. Sorry if I can across as defensive.
I accept what you say re making sure that safety is Number One priority. I agree with you absolutely. Hopefully this site will evolve and if we can think about what the future can give us we will have the time to think about how safe it will be.
I was over checking out Black Market and I do like the way that site works. I haven't checked out its safety credentials, I am speaking purely on the tools available for sellers and the general look and feel.
But, I love this community and want it to be as good as it can while being as safe as we can.

Updates are being made all the time!
We are currently on Silk Road v2.3 (or 2.0.3)
there were a lot of changes beween beta and 2.0
Feedback wasn't even added until 1.5 or so
2.0 was the peg listings to US Dollar update which was a HUGE deal
2.1 added vacation and listing timings
2.2 was major bug fix and new forums
2.3 added hedging
2.4 is coming and, we hear, is going to address feedback (inc. tagging the fake), shill buys, and the buying products interface.

I aggree with this idea,
B'coz not all the seller using USD,
Me personally use EUR.
Also i support more security to be added to this site so LE cant break trhu here!

Is there a changelog anywhere?

I cast my vote for keeping the site the same, but with added improvements like Kind Bud said. I really like the website the way it is, plus creating a new site would mean lots of initial bugs.
-
Keep the code simple and clean! Every new feature introduces possible bugs, if one these was exploitable, it would be devastating...

:) Looking forward to it! "We hear, is going to address feedback (inc. tagging the fake), shill buys, and the buying products interface." I hate that sh*t! I can't wait for the improvements. If we could only eliminate LE and scammers too....
